Harald van Hoeken
Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer
Mr. van Hoeken is an engineer from The Netherlands with over a decade of experience in the African oil and gas industry. Mr. van Hoeken was with PGS from 1997 to 2003 and based in Lagos, Nigeria for over five years, initially as Area Manager West Africa, then Managing Director Nigeria and took over as Business Manager of the Gulf of Guinea when he relocated to London. Mr. van Hoeken has a well balanced knowledge in both exploration and production, having also worked with PGS Production which specializes in leased FPSOs and as an executive in Wellstream lnternational, a company manufacturing and supplying offshore and onshore production equipment. Mr. van Hoeken has a B.Sc..in both Aerospace Engineering and Ocean Engineering obtained with Honors at the Florida Institute of Technology.
Aliyu Maccido
Director of New Business Ventures
Mr. Maccido has over 12 years of experience in Oil trading; he brings to the Equinox Group a wealth of experience gained in crude oil operations in Nigeria & the West African Sub-region. His extensive knowledge of the inner workings of Government agencies in the Gulf of Guinea is an asset to the Group. Mr. Maccido is a Telecom Engineer by training; he earned his degree from the Kaduna Polytechnic and is an alumnus of the College of Petroleum Studies, United Kingdom. He is also a member of the Energy institute in the United Kingdom and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers in the United States.
Mr. Juan Cubides
Director of Latin America Region
Mr. Cubides has spent his entire professional career working for fortune 500 companies such as Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, General Electric and L-3 Communications. In both General Electric and L-Communications he worked as a division director for Latin America, combining over 25 years of experience in the territory. He brings to Equinox Group a wealth of experience in managing the cultural and political idiosyncrasies of the region as well as a network of senior lobbyist strategically placed in each country of interest.
Dr. Ana Isabel Meira Rita
Country Manager Sao Tome & Principe
Dr. Rita coordinates the Group’s business interests in Sao Tome & Principe, which currently has ten (10) staff. Dr. Rita obtained her Medical Doctorate from First Moscow M.I. Sechenov Medical Institute, U.S.S.R. and also completed an internship in Tropical Medicine at First Moscow M.I. Sechenov 61 City Hospital. She speaks fluent Portuguese, English, Spanish, Russian and French which helps her conduct the Group’s business successfully in Sao Tome & Principe and the Gulf of Guinea.
Mr. Makoji Aduku
Director Upstream Operations
Mr. Aduku has over 15 years of experience in the Energy industry. He has worked with a number of major energy firms across the world including Conoco Energy Nigeria Limited, DuPont Nigeria Limited, Shell Petroleum Nigeria Limited and Kragha and Associates in various capacities. He is a Geologist and member of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) and the Society of Mining Engineers (SME).
Mr. Moses Saromi
Director of Strategic Planning & Capital
Mr. Saromi holds an MBA in General Management from Oxford, United Kingdom, and he is also a member of several professional bodies including the Chartered Institute of Marketing of Nigeria. He has over a decade of experience in Consulting, Energy, and Financial services in the public sector. He has previously worked with Afri-Projects Consortium Limited, Standard Trust Bank Limited, National Health Service (NHS), Oxford UK and NOP Research Limited.
Ms. Temi George-Taylor
Director of Business Development
Ms. George-Taylor comes from a management consulting background and is an Accenture Alumnus with almost a decade of extensive functional and technical experience delivering complex and high profile projects in the Energy industry. Some of the clients she has previously worked with include BG Group, Centrica, EDF Energy, United Utilities and Eir Grid . Ms. George-Taylor holds a BSc in Economics from the University of York and an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
